Terms of Use

As of: 10 Oct 2026

This English translation is provided for convenience. In case of any difference, the German version applies.

1. Provider and contact

Be useful is offered by Kyriakos Evreniadis, Konrad-Adenauer-Ring 8, 69214 Eppelheim. Contact: evreniadiskyriakos@gmail.com. Further provider information can be found in the legal notice. These terms apply to private and professional users of the website and the apps for Android and iPhone. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

2. Conclusion of contract and contract text

A free user relationship is created upon successful registration. A paid subscription is only concluded by the final confirmation in the purchase dialog shown by Google Play or the Apple App Store, or in the expressly labelled web payment dialog. Before confirming, you can correct your entries using the back and cancel functions. The contract language is German. The applicable terms are permanently accessible in the app; the version number accepted at registration is stored in the account.

3. Scope of services

Be useful offers learning, documentation and simulation features for humanoid robotics as well as optional career profiles, job listings, applications, direct messages and, in the apps for Android and iPhone, an optional connection to your own robots via ROS 2 (rosbridge). The specific scope results from the plan description shown in the app. Simulation results and previously created AI evaluations (AI analyses are no longer offered since 29 Sep 2026) may be incomplete or incorrect and must be checked by a qualified person before any practical use.

4. Robotics and safety notes

Via the ROS 2 connection of the app you can control a robot that you operate yourself. The app is not a safety-certified robot controller. You are responsible for safe operation, in particular for a working emergency stop on the robot, speed and force limits on the robot side, a secured network and a range of motion free of people at risk. The limits that can be set in the app and the stop on release or loss of connection are additional aids, not a substitute. ROS is a trademark of Open Source Robotics Foundation; Be useful is not affiliated with it. Simulations and previously created evaluations expressly labelled as AI-generated do not replace a risk assessment, expert supervision, safety limits or an independent emergency stop. Safety-critical decisions must not be based solely on an app or simulation output or an earlier AI evaluation.

5. User account and minors

You must provide correct information and protect your login details. Independent use is intended from the age of 16. Minors may only take out paid subscriptions with the valid consent of their legal guardians. If the capacity to consent or contract is lacking, no paid contract may be concluded. The account can be permanently deleted in the account settings.

6. Community rules and moderation

Prohibited are illegal, insulting, discriminatory, threatening, sexual or violence-glorifying content, harassment, spam, impersonation, malware, infringement of the rights of others and the publication of confidential data. There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Users can report specific content and profiles and block other users; blocked users are hidden immediately. We review reports within 24 hours, remove infringing content and exclude the users who posted it in the event of serious or repeated violations. Measures are based on a human case-by-case review of content, context, severity, repetition and possible legal violations; they may include removal, restriction of visibility, restriction of functions or account suspension. Decision, reasons, duration and the option to complain are documented and generally communicated. Details can be found under Reports and moderation.

7. Rights to content

You retain your rights to your own content and confirm that you are allowed to use it. You grant us the non-exclusive rights required for technical storage, display, moderation and transmission within the feature you use. These rights generally end with deletion, unless legal obligations, rights of other conversation participants or legitimate security and legal defence purposes prevent this.

8. Subscriptions, prices and renewal

Before every purchase, the price, currency, billing period, scope of services and any introductory terms are shown. Google Play subscriptions renew automatically for the period shown and are charged again until you cancel them. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play subscription center; the paid services generally remain available until the end of the period already paid for, unless Google Play or mandatory law provide otherwise. Deleting the Be useful account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription. The same applies to subscriptions taken out in the iPhone app via the Apple App Store: payment is charged to the Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, the subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled in the Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and deleting the account does not cancel it. In addition, Apple’s terms for purchases in the App Store apply.

9. Withdrawal

Consumers generally have a statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts, unless a statutory exception applies or the right has effectively expired. Details and a model form can be found in the information on the right of withdrawal. For a purchase made via Google Play or the Apple App Store, the respective store handles payment and refund; Be useful cannot reverse store payments itself. Please therefore request refunds directly from the store (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com, Google Play: order history of your Google account); if you send your withdrawal to us, we will forward it there and help you.

10. Availability, changes and warranty rights

Maintenance, security measures or disruptions at third-party providers may temporarily restrict availability. The statutory warranty rights apply to paid digital services. Necessary security and functional updates may be provided. Material changes to ongoing paid services that are not merely beneficial are only made to the extent permitted by law and are communicated in good time.

11. Liability

For intent, gross negligence, damage from injury to life, body or health and under mandatory statutory provisions, the statutory liability rules apply. In the event of a slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations, liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

12. Termination and governing law

The free user relationship can be ended by deleting the account. Subscriptions are cancelled via the billing channel stated at purchase. German law applies; mandatory protective provisions at the habitual residence of consumers remain unaffected.
